About
I am a PhD Candidate in Finance and Accounting at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. My research lies at the intersection of corporate finance, financial intermediation, and regulatory design, with a particular focus on mutual funds, business groups, and the role of information transmission in financial markets. I use large-scale textual analysis, quasi-experimental methods, and machine learning tools to study how organisational sstructure, disclosure, media attention, and intermediary incentives shape economic outcomes.
My dissertation, Signal, Structure, and Outcome: Essays on Information Transmission in Mutual Funds and Business Groups in India, examines how information is transmitted through financial intermediaries and organizational networks, and how this affects investor behavior and firm outcomes.
Prior to joining academia, I worked in the asset management and wealth management industry, including roles at Batlivala & Karani and ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company. I am also a Chartered Accountant and have completed CFA Level I.
Research Interests: Corporate Finance, Financial Intermediation, Mutual Funds, Regulatory Design, Text Analysis
